I know we are still suffering from Convention Withdrawal Syndrome, a sophisticated way of saying that we had all the fun we could. "The Little Chapter that Could" gave us a wonderful reception. We truly felt at home. On behalf of Fako America, I say thanks to the members of the planning committee and to the entire Dallas molas and iyas who went all out to make our stay comfortable. Special thanks to Fako Dallas President, Mola Edwin Ndoko and to Mola Henry Njie for running around non-stop like an energizer battery.
On behalf of Fako America, I extend our sincere thanks to Mola Dibussi Tande for leading this organization for the past two years. Indeed the award he received from Fako America during the Convention is reflective of his dedicated service to this organization.
In addition to having fun, we also achieved substance. There will never be any confusion whether or not we have a Constitution because we do. We adopted the Constitution as amended. I want to use this
opportunity to congratulate each and everyone who participated in the Constitutional deliberations. The civility that pervaded these discussions remains a testament of our desire to advance the Fako
region and its people. On behalf of Fako America, I also extend sincere thanks to past presidents who started this task and especially to the Constititutional committee that presented the draft in Dallas.
The election was a fascinating new experience filled with anticipation and suspense. I want to congratulate all the candidates - Iya Efeti Kebbi, Mola Augustine Kange, Mola David Makongo and myself - for staying positive through out the campaign. That should continue to be the spirit that guides us all. I thank all of you for the confidence you
have placed on me to be your president. I will work hard to live up to it. For those who did not vote for me, I ask for your support so that together we can move this organization forward. Fako America is a big tent, so while we may have different views on different issues, we continue to have one vision - to advance the Fako region and its people. Let us continue to conduct the business of this organization
with civility and mutual respect.
Finally, I want to assure all the members of Fako America that they will be kept in the loop during my presidency. Again special thanks to all who made the trip to Dallas. I look forward to working with
you all. May God continue to bless the people of Fako.
Mola Sam Moki,
President, Fako America.
